Tout de suite

The program of the recital “Tout de suite” by DuoKeira, formed by Michela Chiara Borghese and Sabrina De Carlo, tells of an intellectual and artistic debate between authors at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries; thus taking the audience into an experimental, vivid and dreamy musical dimension.

The title, which literally means “right away,” “immediately,” takes its cue from the first composition on the program, Claude Debussy‘s Petite suite; the recital then begins with a four-movement composition for piano for four hands written between 1888 and 1889.

This is followed by Erik Satie‘s Trois morceaux en forme de poire(Three Pieces in the Shape of a Pear); this work also gives rise to the title, referring to the author’s immediate genial and humorous response to the reproach levelled at him by Debussy himself : his music lacks “form.” The result is a new work that encapsulates his melancholy past and a new form of cabaret. And it is precisely through sarcasm that Satie is able to discover a direct and profound way to connect with the audience.

The other pieces in the program are merely a consequence, a response of the Group of Six (a musical circle that spontaneously arose in Paris around 1920) to this debate; atmospheres of great artistic and innovative fervor emerge.
